Livetech Helps North Wales HIV Charity Lead the Way

Tyddyn Bach Trust, a HIV & AIDS social respite centre in Penmaenmawr, is helping to lead the way in providing a voice to those directly affected by the disease – thanks to the generosity of forward thinking, web marketing specialists – Livetech.

Livetech, based in Colwyn Bay, have donated a brand new interactive website specifically created for Tyddyn Bach Trust, worth approximately £1,500. The website, which is based on Livetech’s revolutionary platform ‘minisite’, includes an on-line community section allowing people to give honest opinions on the issues surrounding HIV & AIDS without fear of recrimination, something that is desperately needed, according to Tyddyn Bach Trust manager, Philip Kearton Smith.

Philip says:

“Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Livetech we can now communicate with people in a way we’ve not been able to before. We can now invite people to directly comment on issues that affect them while gaining support from others, which is something that very few – if any, other HIV / AIDS organisations do, but is desperately needed.”

“There is still enormous stigma and prejudice attached to HIV and people are quite often afraid to come forward with their views. Having this on-line community will allow people to have their opinion heard and help us help make a difference. Also the whole website is looking fantastic and it’s so easy for us to keep it totally up-to-date, we really can’t thank Livetech enough, they been absolutely fantastic.”

Paul Levy, Managing Director of Livetech, was only too pleased to help. He says:

“When we were approached by Tyddyn Bach to see if we could provide them with a new website to include an on-line community feature, we immediately agreed. We were really impressed with the way that Philip wanted to make a difference in how people affected by HIV could give feedback on issues that really matter to them.

“Livetech helped Tyddyn Bach achieve exactly what they wanted through our revolutionary product minisite.”

Paul Levy explains:

minisite was developed to provide an extremely cost effective way of producing innovative, future proof websites that allows businesses to maintain control of, and fully benefit from, a professional, dynamic internet presence – which is perfect for Tyddyn Bach. Not only does it give the platform they need, it will grow and develop with them – with no need for any future costs, something every business can benefit from.”

Philip Kearton Smith continues:

“We are now able to use our website to highlight specific issues that directly effect people and give them the chance to voice their anxieties and concerns, which will in turn hopefully help educate the general community in the problems and issues surrounding HIV or AIDS.

“We will also be able to use the feedback we receive as a way of highlighting to the Local Health Boards and prospective funding bodies the need for a respite service such as ours as well as enabling Tyddyn Bach Trust to keep up with the ever changing face of HIV.

“We have a lot to thank Livetech for as with their help, support and most of all their generosity we can now offer a more enhanced service than ever before.”

Microsoft Exchange with 1 and 1 and the T-Mobile MDA Vario 3 and Vario 3 (Pocket PC)

This is a great system for getting your email and exchange info whilst on the move. Here are some handy settings for those of you out there having a challenge with this.

Something to note is the policy requirement to have a PIN No on your device this is annoying the first time you apply it as it subsequently asks you for it every time you log on. I have got around this in the past by doing a hard reset and trying again, although I cannot quite remember what i do differently the second time.

Children’s Visitor Attraction North Wales – Gypsy Wood

It was great to spend time with Chris from Gypsy Wood today. This North Wales Attraction is based just outside of Caernarfon and 15 minutes from the foot of Snowdon in Snowdonia. Gypsy Wood is a wonderful place to take your young children, here they can learn about conservation, walk in the Wetlands, look at the largest garden railway in Wales (with a scale model of Snowdon)!

Younger children will marvel at the collection of fairies, which they can spend all day trying to spot around the park. There are a number of small animals to make friends with including – the minature donkey (Babysham) and Simba the little fellow that started Gypsy Wood)!

New Personal Trainer Site in Chester

We have just launched a new minisite driven website for Todd Thornberry of Chekzone based in Chester and Covering North Wales.

Todd has a really interesting approach to personal training and getting results for his clients, he uses the principles developed by the Chek Institute.

It was an interesting project with additional external design input and I must say the end result is very pleasing. Todd can now update the content whenever he wishes and I do hope it makes a great contribution to making his personal training business a great success.

Luxury Med Yacht Charters in Spain Costa Blanca – Photoshoot for Vision Charters

Club Vision – Spanish Yacht Charter based in Costa Blanca

This week saw a visit to escape the big freeze in Wales to fly of to Alicante on Spain’s Costa Blanca.

Shooting for photographic material for the new Yacht Charter Spain Company – Vision Charters. The photos were to be used for promoting online and in printed brochures.

A ‘brand new’ Jeanneau Prestige 50 Motor Boat was to be the main platform for photos. This power boat is the flagship of the Jeanneau Range and the first boat to be put on charter with Vision.

Once we had arrived in Alicante we met up with the photographer and two models, Pele Hansen, Hydi Christiansen and Tillie Thompson. We spent time discussing what shots we wanted out of the three days we were working over.

Even though the weather was mixed (we are talking December here) we got some great shots, which you can see we will be able to use to great effect!

Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 473

I’m currently in Spain doing a photoshoot for Vision Charters and had the pleasure of viewing a fantastic Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 473 boat. I was impressed by the level of fit out and sheer size of a boat below 50 feet, she has a feel of a much bigger boat. The Beneteau 473 is a true ocean cruiser, I can just imagine sailing the Med in this boat from our base here in Calpe on the Costa Blanca.

You can find out more about Beneteau boats at Ournewboat.com buyers guide.
