Tyddyn Bach Trust, a HIV & AIDS social respite centre in Penmaenmawr, is helping to lead the way in providing a voice to those directly affected by the disease – thanks to the generosity of forward thinking, web marketing specialists – Livetech.
Livetech, based in Colwyn Bay, have donated a brand new interactive website specifically created for Tyddyn Bach Trust, worth approximately £1,500. The website, which is based on Livetech’s revolutionary platform ‘minisite’, includes an on-line community section allowing people to give honest opinions on the issues surrounding HIV & AIDS without fear of recrimination, something that is desperately needed, according to Tyddyn Bach Trust manager, Philip Kearton Smith.
Philip says:
“Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Livetech we can now communicate with people in a way we’ve not been able to before. We can now invite people to directly comment on issues that affect them while gaining support from others, which is something that very few – if any, other HIV / AIDS organisations do, but is desperately needed.”
“There is still enormous stigma and prejudice attached to HIV and people are quite often afraid to come forward with their views. Having this on-line community will allow people to have their opinion heard and help us help make a difference. Also the whole website is looking fantastic and it’s so easy for us to keep it totally up-to-date, we really can’t thank Livetech enough, they been absolutely fantastic.”
Paul Levy, Managing Director of Livetech, was only too pleased to help. He says:
“When we were approached by Tyddyn Bach to see if we could provide them with a new website to include an on-line community feature, we immediately agreed. We were really impressed with the way that Philip wanted to make a difference in how people affected by HIV could give feedback on issues that really matter to them.
“Livetech helped Tyddyn Bach achieve exactly what they wanted through our revolutionary product minisite.”
Paul Levy explains:
“minisite was developed to provide an extremely cost effective way of producing innovative, future proof websites that allows businesses to maintain control of, and fully benefit from, a professional, dynamic internet presence – which is perfect for Tyddyn Bach. Not only does it give the platform they need, it will grow and develop with them – with no need for any future costs, something every business can benefit from.”
Philip Kearton Smith continues:
“We are now able to use our website to highlight specific issues that directly effect people and give them the chance to voice their anxieties and concerns, which will in turn hopefully help educate the general community in the problems and issues surrounding HIV or AIDS.
“We will also be able to use the feedback we receive as a way of highlighting to the Local Health Boards and prospective funding bodies the need for a respite service such as ours as well as enabling Tyddyn Bach Trust to keep up with the ever changing face of HIV.
“We have a lot to thank Livetech for as with their help, support and most of all their generosity we can now offer a more enhanced service than ever before.”
