Adventure isn’t on the top of everyone’s agenda but for those who thoroughly enjoy a challenge and achieving something new, the 3 Peaks Challenge is for you.
The challenge involves climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within the space of 24 hours and is a challenge not to be underestimated. Physical and mental endurance and stamina is put to the test every step of the way, therefore it is highly recommended that your fitness levels are at a good standard before attempting this.
This memorable experience is the ideal activity to sign up to with family and friend alike. The cost to complete this challenge is inclusive of all travel arrangements and accommodation for the night. Travel is flexible, with pickups available to arrange within reason of your circumstances and location.
The beginning of the challenge starts with preparing for the climb and you will travel from Snowdonia to Fort William, where you can join the team in the minibus or choose to fly to Glasgow on the Saturday morning. If you choose the latter, you will be met by your leader and taken to the start of the challenge.
Saturday morning is the day the challenge will commence, where you will climb Ben Nevis, which is the highest mountain in the UK at 1344m. Once you reach the summit, breathtaking views of the Scottish Highlands will take you by surprise. Take the time to appreciate the scenery, before descending back down to the minibus to start the overnight journey to the Lake District.
The highest mountain in England would be your next stop in the 3 Peaks Challenge, which is Scafell Pike at 978m. The climb will take place at night, therefore head torches will be needed, with the aim to reach the summit in time for sunrise. This provides you with mesmerising views of the sunrise, before heading back down once again for your final challenge.
The final step takes place on Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales at 1085m. Once you reach the top, this will be the perfect opportunity for a group photo to celebrate your achievement, before heading down to Llanberis.
From here you will be transferred to your accommodation for the night, where your well-deserved night of celebration and rest is in order. If this sounds like the kind of challenge you would love to participate in, be sure to contact Adventurous Ewe. Discounts are offered to groups of three or more, so again be sure to contact them for further information.
