Meeting with NLP Master Trainer based in North Wales

Nlp in 21 Days

Today I met with Beryl Lyndley MA who is a NLP Master Trainer based in North Wales. Beryl has been working with NLP for at least twenty years and regularly runs courses in the North Wales area as well as lecturing to groups on courses at UK universities.

We are currently putting together a site for Beryl which will be located at www.nlpnorthwales.co.uk when it is complete. I was most interested to hear about Beryls work as an author on NLP matters, ‘NLP in 21 Days’ co -authored with Harry Adler. Her book has been translated into seven languages!

The Twelve Days of Christmas 2011 with Dates

People ask when is the right time to take down the Christmas Decorations, the traditional correct time is the Twelth Night or evening of the 5th of January. Although this does vary in some other Christian traditions. Indeed the exchange of presents often occurs on the 6th of January, to commemorate the visit of the three kings to the baby Jesus.

All too often people take down the Christmas decorations directly after Christmas Day, which is in line with the end of the commercial end of the Christmas marketing season.

So you can easily reference the respective days and dates, the twelve days with dates and possible religious meanings follows -

25th December – 1 First Day of Christmas – True Love refers to God

26th December –  2 –  Second Day of Christmas – Turtle Doves refers to the Old and New Testaments

27th December – 3 – Third Day of Christmas – French Hens refers to Faith, Hope and Charity, the Theological Virtues

28th December – 4 – Fourth Day of Christmas – Calling Birds refers to the Four Gospels and/or the Four Evangelists

29th December – 5 – Fifth Day of Christmas – Golden Rings refers to the first Five Books of the Old Testament, the “Pentateuch”, which gives the history of man’s fall from grace.

30th December – 6 – Sixth Day of Christmas – Geese A-laying refers to the six days of creation

31st December – 7 – Seventh Day of Christmas – Swans A-swimming refers to the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, the seven sacraments

1st January, New Years Day – 8 – Eighth Day of Christmas – Maids A-milking refers to the eight beatitudes

2nd January – 9 – Ninth Day of Christmas – Ladies Dancing refers to the nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit

3rd January – 10 – Tenth Day of Christmas – Lords A-leaping refers to the ten commandments

4th January – 11 Eleventh Day of Christmas – Pipers Piping refers to the eleven faithful apostles

5th January – The Twelth Night – 12 Drummers Drumming refers to the twelve points of doctrine in the Apostle’s Creed

The twelve days of Christmas can also be considered to represent each of the following twelve months.

QR Code to Mobile Page to Very Simple Mobile App..

QR Code for Livetech

Have you noticed the dotty square things popping up everywhere in North Wales that people can scan with mobile phones? They are QR Codes (QR stands for Quick Response), a type of 3D barcode that can contain a lot of information, including links to websites and other contact information.

From this code we can create a mobile friendly page that will act as a spring board to your various online assets, social networks, websites, email and phones.

I’m going to link to our Livetech details by way of example in this example in this case.

You can see the incorporated features – clear logo, link to phone number (landline or mobile), email link, website address, physical address, Google map, social networking icons/links… Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin etc. What a great Christmas present to give your company! As more infomation is embedded in a code the dots gets less ‘chunky’ as there needs to be more of them to carry the data.

android presentation

I’ve taken a few shots to show how the thing looks in action and plan to post a simple video to further illustrate.

Cost to make the QR Code and mobile content we would envisage a very accessible £150 plus VAT.

If you wanted a true mobile app for the same simple functionality this can be easily done for the popular platforms iPhone, Android and Blackberry.. you would probably be looking at £200 + VAT in addition to the basic charge.

You would then have a mobile app in the app stores for a very low cost and could encourage customers to download it and put it on their home screen for superfast access to you!

Christmas Shopping – Using online websites in North Wales

Well it’s approaching that time of year again when we have to dig deep, get our thinking caps on and find our loved ones Christmas Shopping – Using online websites in North Walesthat special gift for Christmas.  Every year I spend hours and hours wandering around the shops in amongst the hordes of other Christmas shoppers (at the last minute, is’nt that what Christmas Eve is for?) getting very frustrated and very sore feet!!

However this year like many of my friends I have decided to buy all my gifts online as it saves me a lot of time and stress.  My only issue is that I normally like to shop locally and help support local businesses so for this reason I will be shopping at local online stores that are based in the North Wales area.

If you are like me and struggle to find the perfect gift for certain family members every year then hopefully my blog will inspire you.

For the women in your life why not treat them to a beauty treatment or pamper day, what women do you know who doesn’t enjoy a bit of pampering.  TH1 Beauty Salon in Bangor offers a wide range of treatments at their stylish and contemporary salon where you can totally relax and enjoy the opulent surroundings. As well as a wide range of beauty treatments available they also have ‘Monday Pamper Days’ running throughout the year where you can enjoy any 2 treatments for £50.00.

Wine…. I don’t mean to sound like an absolute Lush but I never get bored of receiving a nice bottle of Red Wine as a gift, especially a good quality Natural Wine. If you are not familiar with Natural Wines then check out Good Wine Online, this North Wales based online retailer stocks a wide selection of Natural Wines as well as other quality Red Wines, White Wines, Rose’s and Champagne.  They also have a wealth of information about Natural Wines on their site which explains the benefits of drinking Natural Wine. The great thing about Natural wines is the fact that you can drink more of the wine without suffering with a hangover headache the next day.

The Christmas break for many people is a great time to get on with DIY and a time to spend time with your family and discuss future projects including renovations to the home.  If you have some spare time over the Christmas period and want to move forward with your plans then why not have a chat with Barry Richards from BR Architecture. This North Wales based firm of architectural designers specialise in luxury house designs, extensions, garage & loft conversions and Eco Design Houses in North Wales.

For those that like to get away from it all at Christmas then why not stay in a wondel  Hotel SnowdoniaTy’n Rhos Country House Hotel is a magnificent 5 star hotel nestled between the foothills of Snowdonia and the Menai Strait.   They have some wonderful Christmas breaks offers on their website.

Venetian Trip

Grand Canal Venice

I enjoyed a wonderful week with the choir in Italy, performing as part of the Merchatello festival. Where we sang in a number of outstanding venues.

After this we visited Venice, what a  scene on arriving at the station with the Grand Canal presented in front of us! After an adventure trying to find the hotel on Calle del forno (the wrong one had been listed online and it seemed that there were about five of these streets with the same name within a close distance of one another, yes ours was the last we visited, GPS can be a wonderful thing!
Enjoyed concert of the Interpreti Veneziani at Chiesa di San Vidal, stunning performances by all!
Wandering looking at the various shops, Venetian masquerade masks, antique prints, designer goods.
We took a second to help a boatman who was struggling to moor  and secure his boat next to the Rialto Bridge with the rapid water taxis zooming around and creating excessive wash.
Pics and more to follow.
